Earthquake in the wilderness

So that’s what one feels like when you have nothing around to gauge shaking—like a huge truck rumbling past, only you’re miles from roads and the rumbling lasts too long. I even heard a low-pitched sound along with it.

The quake was large (magnitude ~6) and shallow at ~10 km depth, so apparently more than 15,000 people submitted reports to the USGS.

And now I’ve wasted enough time sitting on this pinnacle of basalt(?) where I get service that my water is done purifying. All thanks to you!
